ABOUT ME

I'm a PhD student at the University of The West of Scotland where I research how biological and cognitive processes in Autism can inform the development of technology to improve social and emotional communication.

I studied BSc (Hons) in Psychology at The University of Scotland before going on to undertake an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology at The University of Strathclyde. During my undergraduate and post-graduate degrees I carried out research on the link between emotional intelligence and emotion recognition. I was fascinated by emotions and how we perceive, manage and respond to the emotions of others. I'm now in the second year of my PhD and love that I still get to study emotions and the internal processes that form social and emotional communication in Autism.
